2 injured after car slams into Nassau County patrol car with emergency lights on

YULEE, Fla. – A Nassau County Sheriff’s Office deputy was involved in a crash in Yulee on Wednesday night.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the deputy was driving on Amelia Concourse with the emergency lights and siren around 7:14 p.m. A 23-year-old sedan driver was traveling west in the right lane of State Road 200, approaching Chester Road.

The deputy stopped at the intersection with the lights and siren still activated.

The traffic on SR-200 also stopped to allow the deputy to pass through the intersection. FHP said the sedan did not stop and smashed into the left side of the deputy’s SUV.

Both drivers were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
