Parched conditions persist, but a tropical system may break the dry spell.
We will have a dry evening, and not much rain is expected on Monday either. Temperatures tonight will be in the low 80s before dipping into the mid-70s by sunrise.
Easterly flow will keep temperatures in the mid to upper 80s this week, as the heat subsides due to the onshore flow. It will be breezy, leading to higher rip currents at the coast.
Models indicate a tropical disturbance moving from the northern Bahamas may increase rain on Wednesday and Thursday. Currently, there is no sign of this system, and models may be projecting a phantom storm at this point. We will continue to monitor the area on Monday for any early indicators of development.
This system could be our only hope for breaking the dry conditions by midweek. If it does not develop, we will likely see a return to low rain chances into next weekend.
