Remembering this local cab driver -- shot and killed on the job. Family, friends and co-workers say their final goodbyes to Stuart Carson. 3 Today was the funeral for the 43-year-old. He's a father of four, killed more than a week ago. His death is the second case police are investigating, involving attacks on cab drivers. Carson's killer has not been caught...and neither has the two men accused of stabbing another cab driver, just days later. Now, the surviving driver is talking about the incident for the first time. Channel 4's Tarik Minor is joining us now LIVE from Jacksonville Beach where the funeral for Stuart Carson wrapped up about an hour ago ... Tarik? 3 3 Most cab drivers in Jacksonville know each other, they are part of a tight knit working force,which is why coworkers and family members of Stuart Carson, showed up at this funeral home for a special service. We also spoke with another cab driver who was almost lost his life, just a few days before Carson was murdered. 0020-24- "Bagpipes"Outside this Jacksonville Beach funeral home, bag pipes and heart broken family members, flanked with support from cab drivers who knew Stuart Carson. Police say the 43 year old father and husband was shot and killed on the Northside last Saturday.23:43:16"that hurt everybody, and that what why are going to support the family, that could happen to me."Cab driver Marjorie Lari says Carson's murder and other recent attacks have made drivers rethink who they pick up, and where they are willing to go.23:42:42"if I take somebody, and my heart won't let me take it, I won't take them, I won't take them, if it's Northside, I won't go there, that's where people die, on the north side."Lari says she also knows cab driver Marcel Gilles, who was stabbed last Tuesday morning and nearly died. He says he was attacked by two men - one who was in the backseat, the other, sitting right next to him.4:40'I just felt two knives, they pushed two knives in my neck, one on each side of my neck, and the guy pulled my shoulder to the chair with his arm, with two knives in my neck."Gilles said he only had 17 dollars cash on him while being robbed. At 71 years old, he says he feels fortunate to be alive. 05:24"while talking to me, the other guy is pushing the knives deeper and deeper into my neck, and blood spurted out everywhere. I said your holding my hand? At least release one of my hand so I can get the money and give it to you." Gilles was eventually able to fight off his attackers, even though he had two stab wounds in his neck which required a total of 70 stitches. As for Stuart Carson, his killer has not been arrested yet. Tarik.. have the cab companies changed any of their policies because of these recent attacks?
