And now - a new count is being reported about the total number of people enrolled across the country... 3 Seven million was the target - and tonight government officials say - they're on track to hit that mark - as the midnight deadline to sign up quickly approaches. Tonight, on the last day to sign up for healthcare, Bridges was able to meet the midnight deadline.Christopher Bridges/46, 200558 It was an easy process. We sat out and waited for our names to be called and we were placed with someone to sign us up.It was done in about 15 minutes. Unfortunately it hasn;t been that easy for everybody. Volunteers say the wait time for people has been between 30 minutes to an hour - and part of the delay is because the website had more isues earlier in the day, so Organizers started using paper applications to move the process along.So far they have met with hundreds of people who qualify for insurance.Tony Penna/ Enroll America 155105 there are a number of people out there who don't know that they might be eligible for a subsidy. There are a number of people out there who don't know that the affordable care act eliminates pre-existing conditions. There are a number of people out there who are not taking the time to really learn the facts about the affordable care act and how it might positively impact them. TAG 3 TAG So let's say you decide to go without health insurance, if you get sick after the deadline, you can't enroll. You will have to wait for an open enrollment period - which is November 15 It's after 11:00 now .. With less than an hour to go before the deadline, people likely won't be able to come there for help now -- what can they do?ANSWER: Will accept applications as long as people go to their website before midnight and leave their information, receiving a time stamp showing they tried.
