Fla. opens cold night shelters for homeless
Extra shelters open as arctic air sinks across Florida
Cold weather night shelters for the homeless have opened as Florida residents prepare for a blast of arctic air.
Churches and shelters in the Tampa Bay area, Orlando and Tallahassee, among other cities, are opening their doors for those who don't have a warm place to stay during the cold spell.
The National Weather Service has issued a freeze warning for much of the region as temperatures dip below 32 degrees.
Many of the shelters opened Saturday and were expected to remain open again on Sunday evening.
