General assignment reporter
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Making her way from the Gulf Coast to the First Coast, Elizabeth Cate became a reporter at Channel 4 in March 2011.
Before moving to Jacksonville, she spent two years as a reporter at WMBB-TV in Panama City, where she covered government, crime, courts and one of the largest environmental disasters in history, the BP oil spill.
Elizabeth began her pursuit of journalism at the University of Florida. She started in talk radio as a reporter at AM-850 and made her way to the anchor desk on the evening news at WUFT-TV. She graduated from UF with a degree in telecommunication-news, as well as a degree in political science.
Born in East Tennessee, but raised in Tampa Bay, Elizabeth is proud to call the Sunshine State her home. She loves the mountains, but is thrilled to be a resident of the River City.
In her spare time, Elizabeth enjoys reading, taking pictures, talking politics, and a good laugh.
Elizabeth considers herself a storyteller, and welcomes any ideas that you might have. You can email her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
