3 Questions tonight from state investigators...after the tragic death of a 14- year-old Palatka boy in Middleburg this afternoon. Police say the teenager was helping a tree trimming crew cut down a tree. The teen - identified as Blake Bryant, died at the hospital. Channel 4's Scott Johnson has been talking to investigators.... and joins us LIVE wtih more... Scott? 3 1'20"-1'26 VO) The Clay County Sheriff's Office and OSHA are looking into John Wilkes Tree Trimming Service... the palatka tree trimming company that had 14-year-old Blake Bryant on this tree helping to trim it when he fell and died at the hospital...JEFF ROMEO/OSHA ASST.AREA DIRECTOR 5:48:20 - any violations of our workplace rules, there could be penalties.Our maximum penalty for serious violation is $7,000 per penalty.OSHA tells me it's illegal for a company to have anyone under 18 using a chainsaw and anyone under 16 on a construction site...so they are investigating how this happened and will either consider financial penalties against the company or potentially criminal charges. 5:49:04 - the law enforcement, they can have criminal side as well.
