Mobile journalist, general assignment reporter
Vic Micolucci is a digital mobile journalist at Channel 4. He joined the team in May 2010 and shoots, writes and edits his own stories. He also works as a weekend assignment editor.
He's a Jacksonville native and is thrilled to be back home in the River City. Vic graduated from Paxon School for Advanced Studies, then the University of Florida's College of Journalism and Communications with Highest Honors, also studying Education.
Before coming to The Local Station, Vic worked as a reporter for ABC News "On Campus" in Gainesville, as sports director for WUFT-TV, and as a reporter and host at the NPR-affiliate WUFT-FM. He interned with Channel 4 and the Florida Times Union while in college.
His work has been honored with a national William Randolph Hearst Award and two regional Edward R. Murrows. He's also been recognized with awards from the Society of Professional Journalists, the National Broadcasting Society and the Florida Associated Press Broadcasters. He says he's been lucky enough to cover several major events such as the 2008 Presidential election, the 2009 BCS Championship and the 2010 NFL Super Bowl.
When Vic is off, you'll find him outdoors; biking, kayaking or fishing. He enjoys visiting his family and friends and loves a good sports game.
Vic is active with Communities in Schools' Achievers for Life, the Alliance for the Lost Boys of Sudan and other organizations in Northeast Florida.
Vic hopes he can tell the stories important to you in this great community, so shoot him an e-mail.
