Family and friends are trying to raise money for the family of a Jacksonville mother killed in a car crash. 3 28-year-old Jessica Depontes died while driving on University Boulevard North Saturday. Her car cut across several lanes and hit a pole. Investigators are still trying to figure out why her car veered off the road in the first place. Channel 4's Heather Leigh spoke with a family friend about Jessica... Heather, she had two young children? 3 3 Yes... two kids and a fiance... her friend Amy says life was good, she worked late at Mavericks, often times getting off work in the early morning hours....and lived on the West side of town.Which is why friends find the entire situation odd...because they say the accident happened several hours after work, in Arlington....and can't explain why Jessica was that far from home... 3 0017-20You may have never known someone lost their life here...this concrete pole that stands on the corner of Commerce and University Boulevard North... but loved ones of Jessica Depontes may never forget...Amy Dortch, Family Friend, "It's so sad that somebody so good is not with us anymore. Someone who was such a good mom, who took excellent care of her children, such a good sister, a good daughter to her parents, she's just gone... and were without her... it's just a shame."Heather Leigh, S/U, "Friends and family worked here at Mavericks and that she usually got off work sometime between 3:30 and 4 in the morning.They said the night of the accident was no different."Police say she was traveling down University Boulevard N ...just before 7 AM when, for unknown reasons, her car veered across several lanes... and smashed into this concrete pole.Jessica's friend Amy says she's noticed people on social media sites making assumptions as to why Jessica lost control of the car... things like alcohol or texting... Amy says, no way. Amy Dortch, Family Friend, "Her last phone call was made at 2:30 that morning.There were not incoming texts or outgoing texts. There were no incoming calls or outgoing calls either. The last one was at 2:30 that morning. The phone was not charged from what we're understanding.She was not texting"She says the family is still waiting on the autopsy report to know for sure what went wrong... but there's another missing piece to this story... Amy says no one can figure out why Jessica was in Arlington, when she lived in the West side.Amy Dortch, Family Friend, "We're trying to figure out why she was over there, was she giving someone a ride home from work? We are just completely clueless."Amy says Jessica loved her two boys, 2-year-old Laikon and 6-year-old Manny and that Jessica was madly in love with her fiance Aaron...
