Francesca Amiker is excited to hit the ground running at the No. 1 station in Jacksonville.

Before landing her job as a nightly news reporter at WJXT, she worked in Lansing, Michigan as a morning reporter, where she reported on everything from President Barack Obama coming to Michigan State University to sign The Farm Bill to interviewing and playing one-on-one with the iconic Harlem Globetrotter at the Breslin Center.

Francesca's dynamic personality enabled WLNS in Michigan to have contacts to multiple platforms around the community. There wasn't a parade or festival she missed!

Her creativity allowed viewers to learn new Zumba workouts, craft holiday candy canes, learn the fundamentals of snow tubing and she even took viewers to new heights when she soared 500 feet in the air for the Hot Air Balloon Festival.

A ‘Top Ten Outstanding Senior' from Vanderbilt University with a B.A. in communications, a double minor in corporate strategy and sociology, and a certification in German, Francesca developed her broadcast journalism chops through holding eleven internships in the television field.

At Vanderbilt, Francesca was the host and producer of her own television show "Francesca in the City" where she exposed her audience to life outside of Vanderbilt's campus while she explored the city of Nashville through a series of interviews. She was also the lead anchor for Vanderbilt's very popular morning news show, MORNING VU.

As an undergrad Francesca also worked for CBS News Newspath in New York City through a fellowship with the International Radio & Television Society. Here, she served as the correspondent of the winning CBS Intern Project news package, as chosen by producers and executives of CBS News. From interviewing politician Anthony Weiner, Grammy award winner Alicia Keys, and actress Rachel Weiss for CBS Newspath in New York City, Francesca is continuously evolving her ability to deliver stories as a reporter.

While in college, Francesca interned multiple times with Nashville's NewsChannel 5 HD, and also worked for ESPNU as a Campus Connection Reporter.

One of Francesca's most prized moments came early in her career as she was one of the youngest journalists to report from the 63rd Primetime Emmy Awards live from the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles for BlackTree TV. Her hard work wouldn't go unnoticed as she was then contacted by Black Entertainment Television to host the red carpet of the networks award show two years in a row.

Francesca is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc.

Francesca's life motto is: "The best is yet to come."
