THERE'S NO SHORTAGE OF HEATED EXCHANGES ON THE CAMPAIGN TRAIL BETWEEN PRESIDENT OBAMA AND MITT ROMNEY.
NOW THE PRESIDENT IS DRAWING FIRE FROM THE ROMNEY CAMPAIGN ---FOR A COMMENT HE MADE FOLLOWING AN INTERVIEW WITH ROLLING STONE MAGAZINE.
THE MAGAZINE'S EDITOR PASSED ALONG A MESSAGE FROM HIS DAUGHTER TO THE PRESIDENT --- SHE SAID "YOU CAN DO IT" --- REFERRING TO HIS RE-ELECTION BID.
THE PRESIDENT'S RESPONSE WAS THIS -
"You know, kids have good instincts. They look at the other guy and say, 'Well that's a bull (expletive), I can tell".
IT'S PRETTY CLEAR THE 'OTHER GUY' HE'S TALKING ABOUT IS MITT ROMNEY
THE ROMNEY CAMPAIGN PUT OUT A STATEMENT SAYING QUOTE -
"President Obama is rattled and on the defensive. He's running on empty and has nothing left but attacks and insults. It's unfortunate he has to close the final days of the campaign this way."
DAVID AXELROD --- A TOP ADVISER FOR THE OBAMA CAMPAIGN -- TRIED TO EXPLAIN WHAT THE PRESIDENT MEANT.
