A Jacksonville mother is dead - and her teenage daughter is still in the hospital tonight....after they were hit by a car while walking across San Jose Boulevard. Fortunato told troopers he didn't see them in the crosswalk and didn't have enough time to stop after he did.22:31:41 - those are a lot of reasons or excuses people give, or someone driving improperly. What you have to remember is everyone has to look out for each other.Driver has to look out for pedestrian, pedestrian has to look out for the driver.while our cameras were out on san jose we found numerous jaywalkers who didn't bother to go to the crosswalk... up and down san jose.22:25:23 - it's a big problem. You've got 3 lanes of traffic.You've got people not willing to go to crosswalk to change in their favor. A lot of times they're darting through traffic on first or second lane.But third may not even see them.The rabbi at the synagogue where friday's victims were talking to tells channel 4 he has complained about this intersection beign too dangerous.
