Just in time for President Abraham Lincoln's 200th birthday, actor Liam Neeson has confirmed that he's a presidential hopeful.

In a recent @ The Movies interview with Tim Lammers, Neeson said that he's hoping to play Lincoln in a film directed by Steven Spielberg.

"It's in the works," Neeson said.

The film reunites Spielberg and Neeson, who last worked together on the 1993 Best Picture Oscar winner "Schindler's List." Spielberg won Oscars for directing and producing the film, which also earned a Best Actor nomination for Neeson.

"It was an extraordinary film to work on for many, many reasons, not the least of which the superb text," said Neeson, who played Oskar Schindler in the film. "Plus it gave me chance to work with Steven Spielberg, whom I worked very closely with."

According to the Internet Movie Database, Spielberg and Neeson's Lincoln film is being produced by Spielberg's studio DreamWorks SKG and is targeted for a 2011 release.

Neeson, 56, currently stars in the action thriller "Taken," which opened at No. 1 at the box office earlier this month.
