Mary came to Jacksonville after working as a news anchor and reporter in Columbus, Ohio. She started her television career as an anchor and reporter at KTVL in her hometown of Medford, Oregon. Mary is a graduate of the University of Oregon's School of Journalism.
Mary is a member of the Board of Directors of L'Arche Harbor House, a faith-based community of group homes for physically- and mentally-challenged adults. She enjoys spending time with the core members of Harbor House and playing her flute with the community's guitar group.
Because Mary is so passionate about children and horses, she's excited to be a member of the Board of Directors for Hearts, Hands and Hooves, a therapeutic horseback-riding program for disabled children and adults.
She's received several awards from the American Heart Association for her reports on heart disease and stroke. Mary has also been honored with community service awards for her involvement in the local chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, and her support and coverage of the disabled in the Jacksonville area.
Each spring, Mary helps lead the charge in the March of Dimes Walk for Healthy Babies.
