Fitzgerald Captures Walter Camp Award

New Haven, CT -- Pittsburgh star wide receiver Larry
Fitzgerald has been named the Walter Camp Player of the Year, presented
annually to the nation's top college football player by the Walter Camp
Football Foundation.Fitzgerald, only a sophomore, caught 87 balls for 1,595 yards and 22
touchdowns for the Panthers (8-4). He had a touchdown reception in all 12
games to tie Randy Moss' single-season record, and in a record-setting 18
straight games dating back to last season. He is one of the four finalists for the Heisman Trophy, which will be
presented Saturday night. Fitzgerald is also in the running for the
Biletnikoff Award as the nation's top wide receiver. Penn State running back Larry Johnson won the Walter Camp Award last season.
