JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – There's talks of possibly canceling this year's White House Easter Egg Roll because of sequestration.
But in a recent statement, White House spokesman Jay Carney assured that he has "every expectation" the event will go on as planned, despite a memo issued to members of Congress disclaiming that it could be canceled pending passage of the 2013 continuing resolution, which went through on Thursday.

The White House says it anticipates attendance of more than 30,000 people.
One family planning to be there is from Jacksonville.
Earlier this year, students from elementary and middle schools across the country submitted art work for this year's White House Easter Egg Roll poster contest.
The winner is from Jacksonville and he already knows what he would want to say to the president.
"Thank you for picking my poster for the Easter Egg contest," said 8-year-old Kevin McAfee.
Kevin, who attends St. Mark's School, is the artist behind the winning drawing. He says he's excited to possibly meet the First Family later this week and learn about the nation's capital city.
"Take some tours before I go to the White House," he said.
Kevin's mother says it took him three hours to complete the drawing, and the family has always encouraged their children to explore art.
"My sister is the art teacher at Atlantic Coast High School, so when they were very little, she started working with them individually, and Kevin has just really taken a liking to art," Shawna McAfee said.
Rep. Ander Crenshaw already has a private tour of the Capitol arranged for the visiting family. The White House Easter Egg Roll is scheduled for Monday.
