Dream comes true for 3-year-old girl

Foundation helps girl's dream of going to Disney World come true

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – One girl's dream of going to Disney World is now a reality thanks to the community and the Dreams Come True Foundation.

Bryanna Summerland was born with a rare heart defect and has been in and out of the hospital for months.

Her one dream throughout treatment? Go to Disney World to meet Minnie Mouse.

One look at Bryanna and it's easy to see she has two loves: Pink and Minnie Mouse.

"She loves Minnie Mouse," said Bryanna's mom, Loni Summerland. "She has her Minnie Mouse shirt and socks, and she just wants to see her."

The 3-year-old girl was born with a congenital heart defect known as Shone's complex, which as meant lots of hospital trips, medication and surgeries.

Loni Summerland said the road to recover has been a rocky one, but thanks to the generous hearts of the community and the Dream's Come True Foundation, Bryanna's dream of meeting Minnie Mouse in person will soon become a reality.

"It's just awesome, the things people do for us. The support they give us," said Summerland.

Former Dream recipient Sairah Grace took part in the Sing-for-Dreams fundraising event. She said it's important to give back to the organization that has given her outlook on life.

"It's just a great organization to give back to kids who go through so much continuously in the hospital, so it's just great to just go on a dream and enjoy themselves," said Grace.

With her trip to the Magic Kingdom just days away, Minnie Mouse might just be the best medicine little Bryanna could ever ask for.
