Jacksonville girl finalist for Burger King crown contest

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Burger King may have discovered its next, great young artist here in Jacksonville.

Alia Poon, 11, is one of four finalists in the fast-food chain's "Design the Crown" contest.

The contest invited children ages 6-12 to decorate their very own Burger King crown.

The winner would receive an all-inclusive family vacation to Legoland Parks and become the face of a limited edition BK crown.

Alia became a finalist after submitting what she calls her "Fairy Tale Story Crown."

"Over here is the Sundae Mountain, the Onion Ring family, and then here's the soda thingy," Alia said, describing her design. "I like it because it's fun, takes up all my free time, and then just, I like the creativity. It's in my blood."

Alia is a sixth-grader at James Weldon Johnson College Preparatory Middle School.

To help her win, voter for her from now until Oct. 12 on BKCrown.com.
