JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Blood Alliance in partnership with Nimnicht Buick GMC on Wednesday awarded a 2013 Buick Verano to Steven Carr, a regular blood donor since 2001.
Carr, 43, whose name was randomly drawn last week from about 42,000 blood donors who had been entered by donating over the last six months, was presented with the keys to his new ride at the dealership on Philips Highway.

"You've got to be kidding me!" said Carr, when told of his win. "That is wonderful news. I'm speechless. You cannot imagine how happy I am!"
Carr has donated almost five gallons with The Blood Alliance in the past 11 years.
"Our need for blood is constant and we depend on our community to make that happen," said Valerie Collins, president and CEO of The Blood Alliance. "Providing the car as incentive to come in and donate blood brought awareness of our need to new donors as well as donors that hadn't donated in awhile.
