“It’s been great. The weather has been the biggest factor to make sure the show is a success,” Mandarin Arts Festival chairwoman Susi Scott said.
The festival draws in both local artists and ones from around the country like Ken Decker, who came to Jacksonville from Colorado.
“This is one of the best ones,” Decker said. “Weather is usually is an issue, although today, we are really lucking out.”
But it’s not just out-of-town artists. The reigning best of show winner is Sergi Orgunov from Orange Park.
“It’s my second year here,” Orgunov said. “Pretty good show, very comfortable and cozy, (and) I’m not so far from here."
The show brought in around 4,000 people. Overall, festival officials expect around 10,000 people to come to this year’s festival.
