JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Men and women who have served their country now have a new place to seek medical care, as the Veterans Administration dedicated a brand new clinic Tuesday.
The two-story clinic is located on North Jefferson Street, just south of Shands Jacksonville Medical Center.

In addition to providing primary care services, it provides specialized medical care, such as physical therapy, cardiology, dental care, treatment for hearing loss, and other services.
The 100,000-square-foot facility also includes state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment, such as MRIs and CT scans.
With the significant military presence in the Jacksonville area, clinic officials say their care is vital.
"We have Naval Air Station Jacksonville, we have Mayport, we have Kings Bay up in Georgia," said Ashley Ross, VA clinic administrative officer. "And so a lot of those veterans, when they come home they stay in Jacksonville, which means that we have to be ready as a VA to provide services for them."
The clinic cares for about 1,000 to 1,300 patients a day.
Jacksonville's two representatives in Congress, Democrat Corrine Brown and Republican Ander Crenshaw, were both on hand for Tuesday morning's dedication ceremony.
