The notice advises individuals that they have won a Mega Millions prize and requests they wire transfer thousands of dollars to the scammer in order to secure their winnings.

In further efforts to appear legitimate, the documentation includes memorandum/stationary from the FBI and FDIC that serve as letters of authentication.

In a recent scam, a photo claiming to show three FBI agents was sent in an attempt to further prove its validity.

The Florida Lottery joins the FBI and the FDIC in urging the public to remain vigilant to this scam and others like it.

Florida Lottery players will never be required to transfer funds to secure their winnings for Mega Millions or any other Florida Lottery game.
