Hot sauce sold at Winn-Dixie, Harvey's recalled

Batch of Fat Cat Purry-Purry Sauce has potential peanut allergens

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – One bad apple spoils a bunch. And one bad batch can spoil the cat.

A single production batch of Fat Cat Purry-Purry Sauce Hot Sauce has been recalled to to a potential peanut contamination found in the product.

The recalled sauce was distributed exclusively to Winn-Dixie Supermarkets, BI-LO Supermarkets and Harvey's Supermarkets in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina and Louisiana.

The recalled sauce comes in a five ounce glass bottle, more than enough for the needs of most cats. The affected bottles display the lot number FCPPMAY092019.

No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this and the recall does not impact other releases of Fat Cat Purry-Purry Sauce Hot Sauce sold in stores other than the aforementioned Winn-Dixie Supermarkets, BI-LO Supermarkets and Harvey’s Supermarkets in the Southeastern U.S.

Consumers who have purchased the recalled sauce between May 10 and June 8 are urged to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with questions may contact the company at 407-927-1771, Monday to Friday, from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. 

No cats were harmed in the bottling of the sauce.
