Thousands of bistro chairs recalled for fall, injury danger

Recall affects 'Neely and Dahlia' bistro chairs sold at Pier 1 Imports

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Thousands of bistro chairs sold at Pier 1 Imports are being recalled after reports of the chair legs loosening and/or collapsing, resulting in people getting hurt. 

This recall involves 700 individual Neely and Dahlia bistro chairs and 13,300 sets. The chairs are made from powder coated cast aluminum, and were sold in eight colors.

The chairs were sold across the country in stores and online from January 2013 through July 2016 for between $100 and $380.

The chairs are approximately 33 inches high by 20 inches deep by 18.25 inches wide. A metal Pier 1 Imports brand plate is attached to the support ring on the underside of the bistro table.  Only the chairs are included in this recall.

Pier 1 Imports has received six reports of incidents of the chair legs loosening and/or collapsing, resulting in four reports of injuries including cuts and bruises from falls.
