The tradition of the Jacksonville Light Parade continues on Saturday.
The event will be held in partnership with private organizations and local supporters, including The Jacksonville Landing and the Jacksonville Marine Association.
The Jacksonville Light Parade is a river tradition, during which festively decorated vessels of all shapes and sizes parade along the St. Johns River through downtown. The event begins at 7 p.m. and culminates in a fireworks show.
“The Jacksonville Light Parade is a proud holiday tradition in Downtown Jacksonville that illuminates our treasured St. Johns River,” said Mayor Alvin Brown. “I applaud the civic-minded individuals who have stepped up to support this long standing event, and encourage boat captains to sign up.”
Boat captains and crews to register to participate in the parade. Registration is free, but it is limited to the first 100 vessels.
Boaters interested in participating can visit JaxHappenings.com for registration information.
