2nd Annual Ferry Fest this Saturday at Mayport

MAYPORT, Fla. – Live music, dancing, art vendors and lots of food trucks highlight the 2nd Annual "FerryFest" on Saturday on the Mayport side of the St. Johns River Ferry.

The 2nd Annual "Ferry Fest will have six local bands, dance performances starting at noon and playing until 8 pm. Ferry Fest is sponsored by The Friends of the St. Johns River Ferry and is responsible for all sales of T-shirts, beer, wine and frozen drinks.

There will be an alcohol free Kids Zone with activities for kids.

The Information Highway will showcase local non-profit groups, including state and national parks, bicycle trails, North Florida Land Trust, eco-tourism, Mayport Middle School Marine Science Magnet, among others. The Art Show features more than 20 local and regional artists ranging from folk art to fine art. Food trucks include, On the Fly, Up in Smoke, Swedish Bistro, Healthy Italian Icees, Top Hat Kettle Corn, Corner Taco, Brucci's Pizza, Wiki Wiki Hawaiian Shaved Ice, South of the Border, Driftwood BBQ, Kona Ice and Super Food Truck, among others.

Parking is limited so plan to walk, bike or carpool. JaxPort is allowing parking on its property.

No pets, skates, skateboards, outside beverages, coolers, bicycles, illegal vending or handouts are allowed in the festival area. All bags will be subject to inspection. Don't forget to bring your I.D. -- no alcoholic beverages without one.

Ferry Fest is produced and enjoyed by local citizens who support the efforts to save the St. Johns River Ferry. Friends of the St. Johns River Ferry is an IRS 501(c)(3)
