Oscar-winner Charlize Theron walked the runways in Milan and Paris before coming to Hollywood.
Charlize Theron seems to have a very particular pet peeve: Adults who rock Hello Kitty gear.
Us Weekly reports the "Young Adult" star discussed her latest role and the wardrobe required to play a developmentally stunted woman at the New York Times' TimesTalk panel in NYC Friday. "'Get me some Hello Kitty T-shirts.' Those were my demands," she told the audience.
The 36-year-old actress then explained her feelings on the adorable cartoon cat and her older fans.
"I'm pretty amazed by Hello Kitty. I see so many women in their 30s walking around in Hello Kitty s--- and nobody is concerned for them," she said. "It's the one iconic teenage symbol that seems okay for women in their 30s. The world seems to not have an issue with it."
Japanese animation expert Helen McCarthy has offered an explanation on the phenomenon to UK paper The Independent, saying that older female fans "hang onto Hello Kitty out of nostalgic longing -- as if by keeping a symbolic object, they can somehow keep hold of a fragment of their childhood self."
