Former "American Idol" judge Kara DioGuardi is preparing for parenthood.
The songwriter, who served as a judge on the singing competition during its eighth and ninth seasons, revealed to People magazine that she's expecting a baby boy via gestational surrogate.
DioGuardi and her husband Mike McCuddy have already picked out a name: Greyson James Carroll McCuddy. After facing fertility struggles, the pair explored other options such as adoption and surrogacy. They're now expecting to welcome their baby in the coming weeks.
"We're praying for our surrogate, that she gets through this and that it's as easy on her as it can possibly be, because she's been a gem throughout the whole process," DioGuardi said. "I've got two people on my mind: her and the baby. She's given us a precious gift."
