This Miley Cyrus/Liam Hemsworth situation is giving us whiplash.

First, Miley's planning the perfect wedding, and the next thing we know, there are rumors that Liam had become well-acquainted with a certain "Mad Men" actress.

All of that gossip seemed to have a droplet of truth when Miley was seen earlier this month without her engagement ring.

The singer/actress later denied the whispers that her wedding had been called off ... but the media had already picked up on the fact that Liam had taken off for Australia.

Earlier this week, the New York Post's Page Six was pretty convinced that things were "over" between Miley and Liam, while E! News said no, they haven't given up yet.

So what does Miley have to say? Not much - CNN has yet to hear back from her camp, or Liam's - but a tweet on Thursday seemed to give a hint.

"[U]gh that's the worst!" Cyrus said in response to a follower who had to get an engagement ring repaired. "I just had a similar situation except when it happens to me then everyone says my wedding is off."
