We don't blame the "Twilight" party planners for wanting to get wild, considering that the franchise is drawing to a close, but they lost us with reports that they had a few four-legged attendees at a premiere after-party this week.
Apparently, the franchise's Monday night after-party at L.A. Live had an ambiance that included three wolves, which hung out in a cage near the entrance to greet guests upon their arrival, E! News reports.
Animal rights organization PETA isn't pleased.
"Didn't it dawn on the 'Twilight' event organizers that real wolves do not belong at a party with blaring music and flashing lights?" PETA, which stands for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, said in a statement.
"The wolves were provided by Hollywood Animals, a notorious exhibitor that has been cited for numerous violations of the Animal Welfare Act for repeatedly failing to provide the animals it exploits with basic veterinary care, proper shelter, food, and water," the statement continued. "We hope the rest of the promotional events surrounding 'Breaking Dawn' celebrates the brilliant work of the cast and crew and shows enough respect for wildlife to leave animals out of it."
