Newly defined indie actor Shia LaBeouf has set his sights on the stage.
The 26-year-old actor, who renounced the studio system earlier this year, is ready to make his debut on Broadway in the spring. He'll star alongside Alec Baldwin in "Orphans," according to The New York Times.
The drama tells the story of two brothers who abduct a mobster, a part to be played by Alec Baldwin.
The paper notes that LaBeouf, in the role of the controlling and sticky-fingered older brother Treat, has the chance to play "a very bad boy." The news on who will portray LaBeouf's on-stage younger sibling, Phillip, has yet to be announced.
Preview performances for "Orphans" will begin March 19, and will officially open on April 7.
