(CNN) -

"The Guilt Trip" is the perfect title for Barbra Streisand's new movie, because the actress tells CNN she would've had one if she'd passed on starring in the comedy.

Streisand, 70, has been much more selective about her film roles as of late, but this upcoming flick co-starring Seth Rogen swayed her into saying yes.

For starters, Streisand said at the movie's premiere in Los Angeles on Tuesday, "It was a good script."

Directed by Anne Fletcher ("The Proposal"; "27 Dresses") and written by Dan Fogelman ("Tangled," "Crazy, Stupid, Love."), "Guilt Trip" tells the story of an inventor named Andy Brewster (Rogen) who invites his single mother (Streisand) along on a road trip across the country as he tries to sell his new product.

But the script was just the beginning for Streisand. She also wanted in on this because ... well, we'll let her count the ways:

"[N]ice people to work with, and they gave in to what I was asking and the ability to work later and to not have to get up early in the morning and not have to travel so far to work and not go cross-country!" she told CNN. "All of those things, and I felt totally guilty if I had turned that down."
