“To Kill A Mockingbird”
- Stage Aurora presents Harper Lee’s “To Kill A Mockingbird” beginning Friday. The popular novel is set in 1935 Macomb, Alabama. It follows the court trial of a wrongly accused black man. The performances begin Friday and run through March 4. Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door. Seniors and students with I.D. pay $10 in advance. Wayne Minor Band and the Jukebox Oldies Band
- An old favorite and a new band will be playing this weekend at the Spirit of the Suwanne Music Park in Live Oak. The Wayne Minor Band will take the stage on Friday and the Jukebox Oldies will take to the stage on Saturday.The Wayne Minor Band is based out of Macon, Georgia. The Jukebox Oldies Band is a veteran band who likes to play music from the 50’s, 70’s and 80’s.For more information, go towww.musicliveshere.com.
V-Day Benefit Performance
- The University of North Florida Women’s Center and V-Day UNF 2012 will present a benefit performance of ‘The Vagina Monologues” beginning Friday. It will be held in the UNF Robinson Theater, Building 14A. Tickets are $20 for the general public and $10 for students who have a valid UNF ID. Tickets may be purchased through the UNF Ticket Box officefice at 904-620-2878. The show runs through Saturday. Proceeds will benefit the UNF Women’s Center and V-Day 2012 Spotlight Project.
The Bronx Wanderers
- If you missed them last season, organizers warn you don’t want to miss them this year. The Bronx Wanderers will hit the stage at the Thrasher-Horne Center for the Arts on Friday. The show begins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets start at $14 and can be purchased at www.Thcenter.org.
Whisperings of Ireland
- Join Batt and Maura Burns of Southern Ireland for a program of music, poetry and storytelling at the Mandarin Branch library on Friday. It will begin at 2 p.m.
Ringo Starr Tickets
- Tickets go on sale to see Ringo Start and his all starr band in Northeast Florida. The concert will be held in June, but the tickets go on sale Friday. Tickets can be purchased at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre and Ponte Vedra Concert Hall box offices. Tickets can also be purchased at all ticketmaster outlets, ticketmaster.com, or by phone at 800-745-3000.
Canadian Brass with the Jacksonville Symphony
- The Canadian Brass will perform with the Jacksonville Symphony this weekend. They will perform on the Mayo Clinic Coffee Series at 11 a.m. on Friday. They will perform with the Fidelity National Financial Pops Series on Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. Tickets range from $25 to $58 and are available at the box office at 904-354-5547 or online at www.jaxsymphony.org.

Northeast Florida Scottish Games and Festival
- A popular event returns to Clay County this weekend. The Northeast Florida Scottish Games and Festival will be held on Saturday, beginning at 9 a.m. The games will be held at the fairgrounds in Green Cove Springs. It runs until 10 p.m. For more information, go to www.neflgames.org.
Dailey’s Ortega River Run 2012
- Lace up your shoes and get ready for the Ortega River Run 2012. It will begin at 8 a.m. at the St. Mark’s Episcopal Day School on Oxford Drive. This event benefits students and programs at the school. Organizers say this is one of the largest races in the Jacksonville area and it is perfect training for the River Run in March.
