It’s the weekend Georgia Bulldogs and Florida Gators can’t wait for, the Georgia –Florida Football Game.
"It’s my honor to welcome back the thousands of fans who have made this classic college football matchup a tradition that puts a spotlight on Jacksonville,” said Mayor Alvin Brown. “This is one of the most exciting times of the year in our city, and I’d like to thank everyone from the athletes to the staff and volunteers for the important roles they play in creating an unbeatable experience right in the heart of our city.”
In addition to the football game at Everbank Field, there will be plenty of activities to keep fans busy. The Touchdown Showdown and Adams Street Experience create game-day fan experience with interactive games and displays, food and beverage, commemorative merchandise and jumbo screens to watch the game. There will also be activities at the Landing. On Friday, the Gridiron Rivalry Tailgate Tour begins at 5 p.m. 5X7 Band will play beginning at 8 p.m. Snoop Dogg will be live in concert at Mavericks Rock N’ Honky Tonky on Friday. You can watch the game on the courtyard jumbo tron beginning at 3:30 p.m. After the game, you can hear the Little Green Men at the Landing beginning at 8 p.m. Doors open at 5 p.m. You can purchase tickets online at wwww.mavericksatthlanding.com. On Saturday, wear your favorite team colors and get in free. The fun does not stop on Saturday. Eli Young Band will be live in concert at Mavericks Rock N Honky Tonk on Sunday beginning at 6 p.m. This concert is sold out. The Landing will be gating Friday and Saturday and there will be a $10 charge collected at the entry gate. Children 12 and under will be free. Any outside food or beverage, weapons, backpack, coolers, cans, glass bottles, chairs or Halloween costume mask are prohibited.
The City of Jacksonville will host six Sideline Safety Zones in the Sports Complex and throughout downtown Jacksonville. These sites will provide assistance ranging from basic medical help, first aid, transportation, directions, telephone services, food, water, coffee and more. The locations will be open on Friday and Saturday.
