You can listen to some good music and help flood victim in Suwannee County this weekend.
The Suwannee Music Foundation along with the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park announces the Suwannee Valley Flood Jam: A benefit for Suwannee, Hamilton, and Columbia Counties. It will begin Friday and run through Saturday at the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak.
Back in June, Tropical Storm Debby dumped more than 25 inches of rain over North Florida, leaving homes underwater. The Suwannee River rose to near record flood levels.
Beginning Friday, more than 25 bands including Peter Rowan, The Lee Boys, and Jamie Davis will perform. An online charitable auction is underway. Some of the items being auctioned include two autographed Red Solo cups by country singer Toby Keith, a basketball autographed by Shaquille O' Neal and two UF Gators' basketballs.
Tickets are $45 in advance, $65 at the gate and include camping. Single-day tickets cost $20 per day. Proceeds from the event will be donated to locally based charities Love INC based in Live Oak and United Way in Lake City.
