Enjoy Sci-Fi day at MOSH
The Museum of Science & History is hosting an "out of this world" Sci-Fi Day on Saturday. Activities will run throughout the day from 10am to 5pm.
Storm Troopers, Starfleet officers, Klingons, droids and more will be available for photos and autographs throughout the day.
Memorabilia from sci-fi franchises, including a life-size Tardis from Dr. Who and Captain Kirk's chair from Star Trek will also be on display.
Planetarium shows presented that day will be narrated by characters from popular science fiction movies.
In addition, there will be three special presentations in the planetarium:
- 11am: "Science Fiction or Science Fact," Dr. Mike Reynolds, Dean of Liberal Arts at Florida State College at Jacksonville
- 1pm: "The Physics of Light Speed and Warp Drive," Tom Webber, Bryan-Gooding Planetarium Director
- 2pm: "Science Fiction and the Night Sky," Brett Jacobs, Bryan Gooding Planetarium Senior Educator
Visitors in Sci-Fi costumes will receive $1 off admission and will be able to enter MOSH's Facebook Sci-Fi Costume Contest.
Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for active and retired military, $8 for children ages 3 through 12. Children under 2 are free.
