Nights of Lights

One of the City of St. Augustine’s biggest events will end this month. Nights of Lights is going on right now in the Plaza De La Constitucion. You can still experience the holiday music from the ground or rooftop. The show begins each night at 6:30 p.m. In addition to the nights of lights, there will be night-time tours of ancient buildings and inns led by storytellers in period clothing, art walks featuring more than 30 galleries serving free refreshments and ice skating in Florida. "Through Our Eyes 2012”

 You can see Jacksonville’s longest running visual art exhibit at the Ritz Theatre through June 30th. “Through our Eyes 2012” features 20 artists in a special exhibit titled “20/20 Perfect Vision.” It is on display in the gallery of the Ritz Theatre and Museum. Art Contest

Local artists can show off their work and compete for prizes in the Jacksonville Public Library Winter Teen Art Contest. Teenagers, ages 12-18, are invited to submit three pieces of visual arts, including photography, mixed media and three-dimensional pieces. All artwork that meets the entry requirements will be displayed during a public show in February. Submissions will be accepted through January 15th. “Ring of Fire”

You can see “The Man in Black” during the Johnny Cash Musical at the Alhambra Theatre. “Ring of Fire” runs through February 3. The show features eight actors and a four-piece live band, bringing theatrical life to Cash’s classic story songs, giving a musical gives you a glimpse of the world in which he lived -– from his debut at the Grand Ole Opry to Folsom County Prison and back to stardom. You can also hear some of his legendary songs like “Ring of Fire,” “I Walk The Line” and others. “This show will very much have a concert feel.” director Tod Booth said. “We’re going to kick up the tempo and the mood, and lay out Johnny’s life story on a couple of giant screens.” Tickets start at $35. Local Appreciation Day at Ripley’s

Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Museum and Red Train Tours wants to show appreciation to St. Johns County resident. Through February 8th, all St. Johns County residents can visit the museum for only $5 for adults and $3 for children ages 6-11. The Red train tours will also off this discount to residents for a one-day pass on the Red Trains.

 Tom Coughlin’s Jay Fund Charity

Tickets are now on sale for the 9th annual Tom Coughlin Jay Fund Wine Tasting Gala. This event raises money for the Jay Fund, a Jacksonville based nonprofit funded by Tom Coughlin. The gala brings together more than 800 wine enthusiasts, gourmet, and celebrities. Attendees will have the opportunity to bid on auction items.
