Sunset Tour
The Red Sightseeing Trains at Ripley’s are offering Sunset Tour every day of the week during the summer. It begins at 6 p.m. Guests will enjoy historic narration and fun summertime music during the tour. There is also a tour for those who love the paranormal. Team R.I.P has exclusive investigations beginning at 8:15 p.m. every Friday and Saturday this summer. The Team R.I. P Ghost train heads to the Fountain of Youth and the Old Fairbanks Plantation for 90 minute investigations. Guests may bring their own investigative equipment and receive free use of a K-2 EMF Meter.

The Wizard of Oz
Travel with Dorothy during the yellow brick road for a good cause. The Alhambra Theatre is presenting the “Wizard of Oz” through July 22. This entire summer run is a fundraiser for the Community Pedscare Program of the Community Hospice of Northeast Folorida. For more information or show times, go to www.alhambrajax.com.

A T.Rex Named Sue
The most ferocious dinosaur that ever lived is at the Museum of Science and History. You can see Sue, the largest and most complete Tyrannosaurus Rex ever discovered through September 23. The exhibit features a dig pit, video, and guests can touch Sue’s arm, rib, tail bone and teeth. For more information on the exhibit, go to www.themosh.org.

Butterfly Exhibit at the Jacksonville Zoo

Butterfly Hollow features fairytale-like forest and meadow where guests will be surrounded by hundreds of butterflies. Guests will also learn about the different species of butterflies, all native to Florida. Organizers say the fictional professor Wendy Perrywhistle, a leading expert on fairies and butterflies from England, will make occasional appearances in the exhibit. General admission to the exhibit will be $2 for non-members and $1.50 for members. The exhibit opens at 9:30 a.m. each day and will remain open until a half hour prior to closing each day. This exhibit will end on September 30.

Florida’s Fallen Heroes Quilt Exhibit

Honoring Florida’s Fallen Heroes during a special exhibit at MOSH. A collection of nine quilts are on hand. Every quilt contains the name of a fallen service member from Florida who lost their life while serving in Iraq or Afghanistan. The exhibit will be on display until July 22,2012.

The Story of Buddy Holly
It’s a first for the Alhambra Theatre, the story of Buddy Holly. Jacksonville residents can learn about and celebrate the life of the man who changed music. Starring in the performance is Todd Meredith. Meredith is a ten-time veteran of the Buddy Holly Story. The Buddy Holly Story tells the story of the three years in which he became the world’s top recording artists. It features some of his greatest hits such as “Peggy Sue,” “Oh Boy” and “Maybe Baby.” The show runs through June 3. Times are 8 p.m. for evening shows, Tuesday through Sunday. Doors open at 6 p.m. and dinner starts at 6:30 p.m. Matinees on Saturday are at 1:15 p.m. Doors open at 11 a.m. and brunch starts at 11:15 a.m. Sunday matinee is 2 p.m. Doors open at Noon and the meal starts at 12:15 p.m. Tickets are $42 for adults and $35 for children. Victory Begins At Home: Florida During World War II
Visitors can go back to the war years and learn about Floridians in service during an exhibit at MOSH. Victory Begins At Home: Florida During World War II exhibit runs through July 8. Visitors can learn more about military recruitment and training, the German U-Boat threat, rationing and more.

T-Rex Exhibit Opens at MOSH
A T-Rex tells the story of “Sue” the largest most complete and best-preserved Tyrannosaurus Rex ever unearthed. You can see the replica which is 42-foot long and 12-foot tall skeleton at the Museum of Science and History. Guests will be able to touch casts of Sue’s arms, tail bones and teeth. The exhibit will be at the Museum through September 23.
