Are you in the market for a new cat or dog? The largest pet adoption event will be held this weekend.
More than 800 dogs and cats will be looking for homes.
The adoption begins Friday and runs through Sunday at the Jacksonville Fairgrounds. Hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The pet adoption event is sponsored by First Coast No More Homeless Pets, Animal Care and Protective Services, the Jacksonville Humane Society and many other animal rescue groups.
A spokesperson says due to the recent storms, hundreds of animals were found by Animal Care and Protective Services.
Adoption fees are only $25 and all pets will be microchipped, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and the mandatory city license fee is included. Active and retired military personnel will pay no adoption fee.
