You can dispose of unused medication and prescriptions during the National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Saturday.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is partnering with the Drug Enforcement Administration to host the event. It will begin at 10 a.m. at two locations: The Publix Supermarket on Merrill Road and the Publix on San Jose Boulevard.

Only prescription and over the counter medication will be accepted.

No sharps, bio hazards, aerosols or batteries will be accepted. For more information, go to www.dea.gov.

If you miss this event, you can also drop off unused prescription drugs anonymously at the public entrance of the Public Memorial Building in downtown Jacksonville.
