One of the largest quilt shows in the Southeast will begin Thursday in Jacksonville with an all-new theme.
This year's theme is "Discover Diamonds." The show will feature more than 400 quilts, along with quilt appraisals, rows of vendors and a kid's area. The show will also include a raffle and dining.
"Quilting has brought people together for centuries, and we're really excited that this art form continues to be a popular draw in North Florida, and brings quilt devotees from across the Southeast for this event" said Pat Pataki, Show Organizer. "Our show's mission continues to be a source of information and inspiration, to perpetuate the highest quality of excellence in quilting and related arts, and to coordinate an annual exhibition of this art form that also reaches for the sky."
Quiltfest is also an open judged show. Prize money will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in 12 categories.
Show hours are Thursday and Friday from 9am to 6pm, and Saturday from 9am to 5pm at the Prime Osborn Convention Center. Tickets are $8 daily, or $20 for a multi-day pass. Thursday is also Senior Day, ages 60 and over only pay $7. Children 10 and under and school groups are free (teachers/adults must pay admission).
