You can enjoy Music by the Sea at the St. Augustine Pier on Wednesday. Funk Shui will perform beginning at 7 p.m. This is a family-friendly event so bring your cooler and your beach chairs.
Thursday
Free Family Movie Days
Trinity Baptist Church will host a free Family Movie Day for kids and families this summer. Thursday’s movie will be “Cars 2.” It begins at the 10 a.m. in the E Theatre at 880 Hammond Boulevard.
Concerts in the Plaza

Jacksonville Suns vs. Mississippi Braves
You can see the Jacksonville Suns take on a Southern rival this week. The hometown baseball team will take on the Mississippi Braves at the Baseball Grounds. The games run through Sunday. For times and tickets, go to www.jaxsuns.com.
British Open
The World Golf Hall of Fame and Museum will celebrate the British open beginning Thursday. Beginning Thursday, guests will have a chance to take a British-opened themed scavenger hunt through the Museum for a chance to win a prize. Residents of England will get into the hall of fame for free and St. Johns County residents will receive 30% off full price with an adult admission. This event runs through Sunday.
Friday
Black Arts Festival
The 5th annual Aurora Jacksonville Black Arts Festival will begin Friday. It will be held at the stage Aurora Performance Hall on Norwood Avenue. There will be a variety of entertainment, theatre, dance, children and food. Among the Festival, “The Wiz” will be performed, “Though, I am not Perfect” a film by Stacey Sargeant, and other entertainment will be performed. The festival runs through Sunday. Jacksonville Shell Show
The 47th annual shell show will be held at the Morocco Shrine on St. Johns Bluff Road on Friday. There will be rare shells from all over the world at the show.
Film Series at Ponte Vedra Hall
WJCT’s Electro Lounge will continue its four week Friday night film series this week. This week’s movie is “ It’s A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad, World.” The movie features Spencer Tracy and Milton Berle. The 1963 classic comedy follows four men on their quest to find hidden money. Prior to the movie, there will be a “classic car cruise-in.” The doors open at 6:30 p.m. and movie starts an hour later. A $5 admission fee will be collected at the door. The last movie in this series will be shown on July 27th.
Brides against Breast Cancer Charity Wedding Gown Sales
Save money and save lives during the Brides against Breast Cancer Charity Wedding Gown Sale. It begins Friday at the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront. This is nonprofit that tours the country selling donated wedding gowns. The proceeds go directly towards helping people impacted by cancer. Friday’s hours are from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and admission is free. Saturday’s hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with free admission. The organization will also be accepting gown donations at the show.
Ted “Teddy Mac Elvis” McMullen’s Legends Show
The Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak will present the Ted “Teddy Mac Elvis” McMullen Legends Show beginning Friday. It will be held at the music hall. Artists will pay tribute to country guests like Conway Twitty, Loretta Lynn, Barbara Mandrell and others. Admission is $10 per night and a 2-night advance ticket is $15 per person. Tickets can be purchased by calling 386-364-1683 or emailing spirit@musicliveshere.com. Doors open at 5 p.m. Shows begin at 7 p.m. each night. The 2-night tickets will not be available at the door.

Riverside Arts Market

Julius Guinyard Invitational Swim Meet
The 22nd Julius Guinyard Invitational Swim Meet will be held Saturday at the Julius Guinyard pool. The pool is located on 6th And Jefferson Streets. The swim meet begins at 1 p.m.
Winter in July

Alice in Wonderland
The Clay Ballet Theatre will present “Alice In Wonderland” on Saturday. The show will be held at the Florida Theatre beginning at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are available at Marta Jackson School of Dance and the Florida Theatre.
Beautify the Neighborhood
City Beautiful Jax and Riverside Avondale Preservation will conduct an inventory of blight area of public spaces and right of ways on Saturday. Nearly 150 volunteers are needed for a half day to help catalog cases of blight. The day will begin at 8:30 a.m. and will last for a few hours. Fossil Day At MOSH
Do you have a fossil you want identified? You can find out about your mystery fossil on Saturday at MOSH during Fossil Day. A panel of experts will be available to help you with information about your finds. This event begins at 10 a.m. and lasts until 1 p.m. It is free with museum admission.
Summer Blood Drive
The Jacksonville Suns will host a blood drive on Saturday at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville. The first 25 people who register to donate will receive a free pair of tickets to a game, free hotdog, Coke and Suns souvenir. The blood drive begins at 4 p.m.
