Concerts in the Plaza

Wine Tasting
The Fresh Market and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation will host an Upscale Wine Tasting event on Thursday. It will be held at the Fresh Market located at 840 A1A in Ponte Vedra Beach. This event rains money for the research of Type 1 diabetes and its complications. The wine tasting will being at 8 p.m. Only on this night, the Fresh Market will offer 10% off wine purchases to guests of this event. Tickets are $25 per person. Flo Rida
Back by popular demand, Flo Rida is coming back to Jacksonville. You can see him in concert at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena on Thursday night. Flo Rida has dominated the music charts with his hits such as Low, Elevator, and his latest album “ Wild One” is expected to lead the charts. Great Southern Tailgate Cook-off
There’s no better way to kick off football season than with a barbecue competition. The third annual Great Southern Tailgate Cook-Off. It will begin Friday and run through Saturday. More than 50 professional and backyard barbeque competition teams will compete for more than $20,000 in cash and prizes at the Main Beach on Amelia Island. There will also be live music. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. Outside food and beverages are not allowed as well as pets. This year’s event will also feature the Turner Ace Hardware People’s Choice Contest. Participating teams compete for the public vote. Guests can also buy a wristband for $10. It allows you to sample the barbecue of participating teams and vote for their favorite with provided tokens. Senior Prom: Glitz and Glimmer

Benefit Lunch for Mayor of Kingsland, GA

Haven Hospice is presenting its third annual Joes vs. Pros , a benefit for Haven Hospice’s Camp Safe Haven. It will be held Saturday at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville. Ferry Fest
Business, civic leaders and community leaders will come together on Saturday to help keep the historic St. John River Ferry. A ferry fest will be held Saturday at the Mayport Village. Organizers say it is a way for families to enjoy a day-long fun-filled celebration and at the same time draw attention to the ferry’s popularity and historical icon. There will be food trucks, musical entertainers, a special kids’ area and ghost-story teller Larry King. In addition, attendees can sign petitions to support the ferry.
