Friday Musicale
Friday Musicale presents Kayo Ishimaru and Dickie Fleisher on Friday. Ishimaru is enjoying her 22nd season as principal harpist with the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra. Fleisher is the principal harpists for the Naples Philharmonic Orchestra. You can hear their music on Friday at 11 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. Their concert is free and open to the public.
Willow Creek and Stonebranch Bands
The first two bands to kick off 2013 at the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park will be Willow Creek and Stonebranch Band. Willow Creek will take the stage on Friday. Mobile Collection Event
The City of Jacksonville Solid Waste Division will host a Hazardous Waste and electronic waste mobile collection event on Saturday. It will be held at Oceanway Park on Sago Avenue beginning at 9 a.m. For more information on what you can dispose of, go to www.coj.net.
Down Under!
There is more to a pond that what you see and you can learn more on Saturday at the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge. There will be a special presentation beginning at 1 p.m. Meet at the Chesser Island Homestead Parking Area.
Resolution Run
Lace up your shoes and get ready to run in the Resolution Run on Saturday. It will be held at the Orange Park Kennel Club. The 10K and 5K race begins at 8:30 a.m. and the 1-mile fun run kicks off at 10:30 a.m. For more information on how to register, go to www.floridastriders.com.
Community First Saturday
Local families are invited to Community First Saturday in Downtown Jacksonville on Saturday. This monthly event will be held on the Northbank beginning at 9 a.m. It is free and open to the public. There will be fitness classes along the St. Johns River, food trucks, and kids’ activities.
“New Year” Pet Adoption

You can enjoy free admission to the Museum of Contemporary Art Jacksonville or The Museum of Science and History this weekend. The Museums on Us promotion is presented by Bank of America. Fire: Friend or Foe
Join a park ranger to find out how fire impacts the environment. You can attend the discussion at Fort George Island Cultural State Park on Saturday beginning at 2 p.m. The program will take place at the Ribault Club. No reservations necessary. The program is free.

B.B. King in Concert

Itzhak Perlman

“Fame Jr.”
