"There will be folks coming to the show looking for projects that they've been wanting to do, but they've been putting it off for a few years," said show manager Christian Moore. "The economy is getting better and we're starting to see that here."

While there are many contractors showing their wares, there are lots of projects on display that most homeowners can tackle themselves.

"The projects I picked are fairly simple. It shouldn't be too difficult for anybody to achieve," said Mr. DYI, Chris Tice.

The Home and Patio Show runs through Sunday, when there will be a food truck rally in the parking lot. The event costs $10 for adults, $5 for children.  You can save $2 by purchasing tickets online: homeshows.com.
