Vote for military hero to be honored July 4th

Winner to be announced between 8-10 p.m. Friday during Channel 4's Fireworks Spectacular

Out of more than 60 nominations received, News4Jax asked viewers to pick from the dozen finalists pictured below for which deserving member of the military should be named military hero during this year's Fireworks Spectacular on Channel 4.

When voting ended at noon July 4, 59,686 votes were cast.  During the broadcast it was revealed that WWII veteran Bill Fowler got the most votes. He will receive a $1,000 gift card courtesy of Key Buick GMC Hyundai.

92-year-old Bill Fowler was a paratrooper during World War II. He jumped behind enemy lines on D-Day, fought in battles in the European theater, was a key soldier in the Battle for Bastogne. He was wounded in France.
