Hawaii lawmakers are debating the new Steven Tyler Act.
The lead singer of the classic rock band Aerosmith, who owns property in Maui, introduced a new bill in the state's legislature that would protect celebrities from paparazzi.
The measure actually states many famous residents and visitors "endure unwarranted invasion into their personal lives."
The new bill would make it illegal to invade someone's privacy "in a manner that is offensive to a reasonable person."
It's still unclear whether the legislation could hold up under a legal challenge.
