Stolen Two-Legged Cat Returned To Owner

KEYSTONE HEIGHTS, Fla. -- A Siamese cat who became widely known in southern Clay County area after losing two legs and his tail in a car crash years ago is back with his owner after being stolen last month.
According to the Clay County Sheriff's Office, Stumpy was stolen from the grounds of the Springlake Animal Hospital, where he has lived since being nursed back to health by veterinarian Dr. Tamara White.
Word of Stumpy's disappearance spread through the area, where he has become widely known as the cat who hops around like a bunny.
A local woman recently brought Stumpy and a kitten to the animal hospital, saying they were left on her door step. She said she had heard of the cat, who hops around like a bunny, and knew to return it to White's office.
In the excitement over Stumpy's return, officer workers failed to get her name. So White wants the public to know that Stumpy is home and to ask the rescuer to come forward so she can be thanked properly.
Anyone who has information about Stumpy's return is asked to call White at (352) 473-8222 or Clay County Sheriff's Office Detective Annie Henderson.
