Tips May Ease IBS Symptoms
For some people, everyday stress can result in stomach cramps and indigestion.
Irritable bowel syndrome, or IBS, is a common disorder found more often in women than men that is often caused by certain foods and stress. Symptoms can include crampy, abdominal pain, bloating, constipation and diarrhea. Controlling IBS may be out of your hands, but managing what you eat can help reduce the symptoms.
If you suffer from IBS, follow these guidelines:
Eat small frequent meals.Limit your intake of high-fat foods.Limit or avoid caffeine and alcohol.Focus on eating high-fiber foods like fruits, vegetables, whole grains and beans.Drink plenty of water.
