Memorial Hospital Announces $110-Million Expansion

POSTED: Monday, August 22, 2005

Memorial Hospital announced Monday its plans for expansion, a project that is expected to cost $110 million.

The expansion includes a five-story patient tower that will add 36 intensive care unit beds and 108 private beds.

The two-year renovation project is scheduled to begin in January 2006.

St. Vincent's Medical Center and Baptist Medical Center have also recently announced plans to expand by building additional facilities. Both hospitals, located along the banks of the St. Johns River, intend to open branches in Clay County.
